The Department of English is earlier a part of the Post Graduate Extension Centre of Madurai Kamaraj University, from 1982. It is one the very first departments to be established in our university in 1990. The objective of the department is to empower the learners through the study of the English language and literature, to improve their overall potential for their career prospects and thereby to contribute to nation building with a spirit of universal humanism. The Department carries out research on current trends in Literature and Language Studies, and offers Post-Graduate, Doctoral, and Post-Doctoral programmes. We strive hard to impart quality education to our stakeholders and make them responsible citizens.
