GeoTechnology is the science devoted to the investigation, study and solution of the engineering and environmental problems which may arise as a result of the interaction between geology and the works and activities of man as well as the prediction and the development of measures for preservation or remediation of geological hazards.
The ambition is to present a multidimensional view on GeoTechnology education to cater the needs of the Government of India at the wake of dwindling thirst in understanding the natural environment. The Centre for GeoTechnology is of multidisciplinary nature encompassing with the various fields like Geology, Geo Engineering, Geography, Geophysics, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Forestry, Mining, Remote Sensing, Oceanography, Computer Sciences and Management. The only is offering Applied Geophysics Programme in Tamil Nadu.
