| Comprehensive pubic community colleges serve multiple
educational purposes for their diverse citizens today. Community colleges have
non-selective admission policies and, therefore, provide open access to anyone
with or without a formal high school diploma . There is not a simple set of
universal instructional objectives to properly measure student learning and
achievement at the community college level . Students vary widely in many ways
including age, gender, ethnicity, nationality, socioeconomic status, studying
patterns, learning styles, as well as previous educational preparation .
Community college instructors are being held increasingly accountable for how
each student learns and achieves academic success in their classrooms . |
