Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy

Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSE&IP) has been functioning from the academic year 2008-09 with the financial assistance of UGC XI plan. It continuous to function under XII plan also. At present (i.e) 2015-16, Academic year, the department has 2 Teaching staff members and 6 Non-teaching staff members are working in the centre.

The UGC has given clear mandatory functions for our centre. It could be classified into three broad categories.

The UGC Mandates of the Centre

1.Conceptualizing discrimination, exclusion and inclusion based caste / ethnicity and religion.

2.Developing and understanding the nature and dynamics of discrimination and exclusion.

3.Developing and understanding of discrimination at an empirical level.

4.Formulating policies for protecting the rights of these groups and eradication of the problems of exclusion and discrimination.

Objectives of the Centre

2.To create index and indicators on Social Exclusion

3.To critically evaluate the existing public policies Vis-a-Vis Social Exclusion

4.To develop alternative model for future public policy initiatives

3.Homeless Persons, Religion Minorities, Physically Challenged persons, Landless Labourers
